Information we collect
Information you provide (account): If you create an account, we collect information such as your email address and authentication data needed to sign you in and secure your account.
Information you provide (event planning data): When you use the Service, you may provide information such as guest names, RSVP details, schedules, budgets, registry items, notes, and other planning content. This may include personal information about you or your guests if you choose to enter it.
Guest-submitted information via public links: If you share a public guest link, guests may submit information (such as RSVP responses or contact details) that is stored with your event data.
Automatically collected technical information: We automatically receive certain information when you use the Service, such as device and browser type, pages visited, approximate location derived from IP address, log data, timestamps, and error or performance diagnostics.
Cookies and similar technologies: We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember preferences, keep you signed in during a session, and support advertising and analytics (where enabled).
How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service (including saving your event planning data when you use an account).
- Authenticate users, prevent fraud, and protect the security of the Service.
- Remember preferences and settings.
- Respond to support requests and communicate service-related notices.
- Measure performance and usage, and develop new features.
- Display advertisements, measure ad performance, and support affiliate tracking where applicable.
Advertising, affiliate links, and third-party cookies
We may show advertisements and include affiliate links to help keep the Service free.
Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to your website or other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
Advertising and affiliate partners may use cookies or similar technologies to measure performance, limit ad frequency, and (where allowed) personalize ads.
Consent management in certain regions
When required by law or by our advertising partners (for example, for visitors in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland), we use a consent management solution so you can accept or reject certain categories of cookies, including advertising cookies used for personalized ads.
If you do not consent to advertising cookies where consent is required, we may serve non-personalized ads or limit ad measurement, depending on availability.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share information in the following situations:
- Service providers: vendors that help operate the Service (for example, hosting, infrastructure, email delivery, analytics, and security services).
- Advertising partners: if ads are enabled, third-party partners may receive information via cookies or similar technologies to display ads and measure performance.
- Affiliate partners: if you click an affiliate link, the merchant may receive information needed to attribute the referral (for example, a referral identifier).
- Legal and safety: if required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- Business transfers: if the Service is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Your choices
Where offered, you may be able to accept or reject certain categories of cookies (for example, analytics or advertising). You can also control cookies through your browser settings.
If you choose to reject advertising cookies, you may still see ads, but they may be less relevant and measurement may be limited.
Depending on your region, you may have additional rights to opt out of targeted advertising. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) or similar opt-out preference signal, we will treat it as a request to opt out of the sale/sharing of personal information for targeted advertising to the extent applicable.
Data retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business purposes such as security, fraud prevention, and compliance.
If you have an account, we generally retain your saved event data until you delete it or your account becomes inactive for an extended period. We may remove stored data after long periods of inactivity to reduce storage and keep the Service reliable.
International transfers
If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other locations where we or our service providers operate.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to help protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing.
